A workshop was held on May 27–28 this  year at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center, about RecQ helicases, in particular BLM. A part of it involved meeting members of an advocacy and support group for persons with Bloom’s syndrome and their families. Nathan Ellis and colleagues wrote a report of the workshop, published in Mechanisms of Ageing and Development (Volume 129, Issue 11, November 2008, Pages 681-691) journal. The report highlighted recent studies on human RecQ helicases: BLM, WRN, RECQL4, and others.
